Wishing to go to Scotland?

Hello everyone, I and my cousin were planning to go to Scotland sometime in the future, but since then her career is preventing her from doing so. I still plan on going, maybe iwth my friend or brother, but I don't have any sort of plans made up, my cousin had all of that. My cousin was saying that the best way to go to see Scotland was by train. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go, what to do, where to stay?

I'm a college student, and funds are somewhat tight, so I won't be able to stay at anything fancy. But I have always wanted to go to Scotland, since I was a child.

I'm not interested in shopping or anything like that, i just want to experience Scotland. This is going to be a very special trip for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to Edinburgh I DEFF recommend the Castle Rock Hostel. It is good times, people of all ages but mostly college age. Friendly staff and travelers. Huge building, Cheap rates, and RIGHT across the street from the Edinburgh casle!
