Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo ousts Hu Yun to surge into Men’s Singles semi-final at Chinese Taipei Open
Indonesia’s emerging player Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo showed a remarkable performance on court and reached into Men’s Singles semi-final after showing exit to Hong Kong’s Hu Yun in quarter-final fight at the Chinese Taipei Open Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Friday,
October 5, in Chinese Taipei.
The passionate Wisnu, who entered into the tournament as an un-seeded shuttler in Men’s Singles category, played to his maximum potential and remained successful in thrashing Yun who was fifth seeded player in the event.
Wisnu continued his winning streak in the championship by playing to his maximum potential and remained successful in defeating Yun in a tremendous fight that lasted 71 minutes long and the Indonesian managed to win it in three games.
The fifth seeded Yun, on the other hand, played good badminton but failed to get elevation when it mattered most. He failed to control the pace of rallies in the concluding phase of final set and crashed out without creating a strong impact.
The first set of this crunchy competition was quite entertaining when both players employed their hard-to-learn skills and managed to stay close in opening half.
After the interval, Wisnu tried to put up strong show but failed to live up to expectations and lost the set with a tight 19-21 score on the board.
The following game was absolutely shocking for Yun who could not live up to the expectations and failed to control the pace of rallies until the end of first half.
After the break, Wisnu continued his roller-coaster performance as he placed his shots in gaps quite well and took the game with a stunning 21-12 score on the board.
In the decider, Wisnu did not any sign of pressure as he played freely and tested his shots in all areas of the court to prove his mental toughness. He was in command when the end of opening half took place.
After the break, Wisnu stayed ahead of Yun as he played in the similar passionate manner and eventually won the set with a 21-17 score on the board.
Wisnu won this interesting fight in a convincing fashion with a thrilling margin of 19-21, 21-12 and 21-17.
