  1. Please forgive Mirage.  He is just messing with you.  Everyone knows that a witch bike is the step-in cruiser that was ridden by the Wicked Witch of the East in the Wizard of Oz.  She is often erroneously referred to by the name of her not-yet-dead sister, the Wicked Witch of the West.  But make no mistake about it, it was "East" who rode that witch bike.

I was not aware that one could obtain a witch bike in either road or mountain configuration, only as a cruiser.  But if you have that choice and you want to ride 100 miles a day then a road bike for sure.

Good luck. That's an ambitious goal for mileage on a witch bike of any type.

  2. I've never heard of a Witch bike before, but if you say they are for you, go for it! Definitely a road bike though...

Doing the math, you are riding 36 miles (almost 4 hours) a day now (assuming riding 5 days a week), and you want to increase that to 100 miles a day (8 to 10 hours per day)?

For $500 you won't find a bike that will do what you want. I think you should increase your budget for a road bike to perhaps $1500 or so to get into the class of machine that is capable of what you want.

  3. You put in some good miles.  I agree with the other posts.  Road Bike, or perhaps a cross bike if you like more of an upright position.
