  1. Wicca is a very popular religion and I believe that is what it was considered in really old times.

  2. I wouldnt answer that cause its been already answered. But yeah your avatar caught my sight too ( lol ).

There is no such thing. But there are people who call themselves witches.Or ''Wiccan''.Originally ''Wicca''.

    Thats not a religion though.

  3. wicca is the religion of witchcraft..... but in the olden days it was known as pagan..... people who practiced the pagan way of life honoured nature believe in both the god & the goddess and we were the caretakers of this world only to take what we needed from it and to put back what we could..... that was before the romans & christians wiped out the pagan way of life..... burning witches calling them devil worshipers.......... a bit like the native american's..... except not many survived... to tell the tale of their ancestors

it was the main religion in the north of europe for many years.

  4. Witchcraft is a practice not a religion.  Any religion can participate in witchcraft although Wicca tends to incorporate witchcraft practices.  Wicca is a religion that was popularized in the 1950's by Gerald Gardner who patched it together from various sources - hermeticism, judaism, etc.  Therefore, some of it is quite old but other parts have been adapted for modern use.  Although ritual sacrifice may have been practiced by earlier pagans, so did Judaism and Christianity.

Keep in mind, the term pagan previously meant "country dweller" and was a slur.  Currently it is used to describe any belief outside the Abrahamic faiths.  It was never, and still is not, a particular religion.

  5. Witchcraft was not a religion. People accused of being witches could be of any religion. Many or even most people of all religions believed in some sorts of magic or witchcraft.

Most people accused probably did not think they were witches, but a few may have done. As witchcraft does not actually work, it was a myth.

Modern "Wicca", whose believers may call themselves witches, is a religion invented in the mid 20th century and inspired by romantic, largely false, ideas about pre-Christians paganism. They left out the human sacrifice. It bears little relationship to witchcraft as understood by Medieval or pagan people.

  6. I don't know about before, but now it is a religion.

  7. It was both,

it was just a myth like in the really old times, but it then became a religous practice for few, and now more have joined

  8. O_O YOUR AVATAR IS L--
