  3. Without a doubt it is Goodwood in Sussex, England.  It is often referred to as the most picturesque racecourse in the world.

Chantilly in France is pretty spectacular, especially with the Chateau in the background.

I have to agree that Santa Anita is a good looking track (http://www.seeing-stars.com/ImagePages/S... , but I have to stick with my home country!

  4. Santa Anita...the flowers are everywhere..Saratoga I have hear is beautiful as well.

I have enjoyed Turf Paradise and Sunland Park as well.

  5. I'd have to say Keeneland (but I'm partial)!! I lived in Lexington for 5 years and Keeneland is so gorgeous!! Plus they just put in the new poly-track which is great for the horses!!

  6. cheltenham racecoarse in the uk ,or listowal in ireland, belmont park, in us, chantilly in france, shan tin in hong kong,

  7. Santa Anita is very nice. Weather is always perfect, it faces the mountains,  seagulls, and occasional helicopters flying on. It literally feels like you are in a picture sometimes.

  8. when one considers a track, we must think about how it is for the horses  training and running over it. We must look at the shape of the track esp. looking at the turns, if their wide sweeping or tight hairpin type turns and then the weather and then the ambiance on race day.

With this in mind here is my pick.

It was a  small track in Auckland,N.Z. And here is why it is my All time favorite choice.

    1.The starting gate

    2. the soundness of the horses that I observed on 2 different racing cards or days.

Let start with the starting gate and my opinion of them. I hate all the gates in the the U.S. and the ones I've seen on T.V. in other places such as Europe, etc. and many, many,HORSES hate them too, it is one of my biggest pet peeves in horse racing today.

The starting gate in N.Z. was amazing, the stalls were a touch wider, it seemed from a distance, and here is the kicker, there was no overhead top on it. all the horses walked into the open to the sky and the chest high stalls of the  gate easily, there were only 2 gate hands or something crazy like that and the jockeys either jumped off their horses and led them in or rode them into the gate, without any of the problems that plague the starting gates in the rest of the world. I am sorry,  But for this reason Alone I vote for that little New Zealand Race track I was at .

Sorry but I forgot what is was called, it was 15 years ago or and a small track in the outskirts of Auckland.

And hear is the second Reason they get my vote. The soundness of the horses I seen there on race day. There was a very high percentage of sound, I mean not a pimple on em sound, going to post.

I think we, the rest of the horse racing world have a lot to learn from that little race meet just outside of Auckland N.Z.

  9. keenland

  10. Arlington Park was beautiful.  Not being as tracks like Saratoga yet, I have to go with Arlington.

  11. Hollywood Park, the track of flowers and lakes that says it all.  Too bad some greedy land developers are going to shut it down in a couple of years and put up condos there.

  12. Saratoga, NY in the summertime.

I've been to Preakness and the Derby, and Saratoga is just cool.

  13. The most beautiful track I have ever seen is Saratoga.

  14. Keeneland. Churchill Downs was gorgeous up until they put up those hideous skyboxes that are higher than the spires.

  15. Saratoga, Woodbine, Santa Anita, Hialeah ( now defunct),Keeneland. The tracks in Dubai are okay if you like the desert. The tracks over in Japan are cool mainly because of the people who show up, Sha Tin is overwhelming when they run their big races. I have never been around SO MANY fans all at once, forget about hearing the announcer you simply can't!

I am very tired and can't think of the name of the track... but the one where they run the Arc' de Triomphe is amazing too.
