If I worship the God and Goddess in all their names (Hecate, Diana, Apollo, Murcury etc.) Does that make me Wiccan? Or is there another Pagan religion that worships All goddesses and gods? Or can I just practice Witchcraft and call upon those god/desses?

  1. wicca is a specific religion with it's own mystery based tradition. true wiccans have been initiated into a lineaged coven that can trace it's roots back to Gerald Gardner's original coven. they have Outer Court teachings that are open for any to learn, but they have Inner Court teachings only initiates are taught as well. it's the initiation and Inner Court teachings that make someone a true wiccan.

the worshiping of deities in all their aspects would make you an eclectic, and there's nothing wrong with that. just make sure to check your sources and not work on blind faith.

  2. Pagan.  You seem confused which way to go.  Remain open and you will find the way for you.

  3. those are greek gods.. wiccans call thier power from the earth and sky..

  4. If you are just worshiping the Greek god and goddesses you can be following the Hellenic Reconstructionist path.  These are the rites the ancient Greeks performed.  Quiet often the participants dress in a Khiton and speak invocations in Greek.  You can check it out on Thiasos on the net.  Blessed be.

  5. No one can worship "all goddesses and gods."  There's millions of them to address.  You don't have the time.  Do you mean worshipping a single God and Goddess who you see as encompassing all of those other deities?  Some Wiccans do that, but it certainly doesn't make you a Wiccan.  You can practicce witchcraft without being Wiccan, but I would warn you that if you're going to call upon deities in your workings you'd better be prepared for them to expect things from you.  They don't just hand out freebies because you involved their name.

  6. It makes you an Eclectic Pagan.  Eclectic means taking what you think is best from a number of different sources and merging it all into one belief system.  Most of us Pagans are more or less Eclectic.  I'm a Celtic Pagan and Witch, but I can't help but have a warm spot in my heart for Quan Yin.  She keeps showing up in my life and helping me.

The practice of Witchcraft itself doesn't require any worship of any Gods or Goddesses, although many Witches are also Wiccan or other forms of Pagan.   You haven't said what other magickal activities you do, so I have no way of knowing if you're a Witch or not.  You can most certainly practice Witchcraft and also call upon any Gods or Goddesses you like.

I have a rather strict, British sense of what constitutes being Wiccan, so nothing you have said leads me to believe you are Wiccan.  And, as another poster said, there's a lot more to  being Wiccan than just believing in Gods and Goddesses.

But then, I'm not Wiccan either.  It's a convenient word to describe "Spiritual Witchcraft," generally, but I use it much more specifically than that.

  7. i am not for sure but i think that might make you a wicca i worship some of those gods/godesses and practice witchcraft

  8. Many Pagans who are non-Wiccan worship the god and goddess under various aspects.  I notice you only listed Greek names.  do you also worship the god and goddess under their Celtic, Roman, African, Sumarian, Eqyptian, etc. names?  Being Wiccan is much more than using different names or aspects of the Lord and Lady.  You can certainly practice witchcraft and call upon whatever Deities are needed by you at that moment.

  9. I'm pretty sure it makes you Wiccan.

  10. You can just practise withcraft, but if you are calling on the power of these dieties to bring energ to your spell or bless it or something, and you don't beleive in them, I'm not sure it will work. Howeve if you beleive in them, then it depends what you do about this as to what you are. I would do some research into the different branches of pagannism. You might find something that suits you. However I wouldn't say you were wiccan, becasue there are a few other things in wicca besides believeing a god and goddess and doing magick.
