I mean like symbolic items such as pieces of ribbon, cloth, stone, etc.

Save & reuse, burn, or toss?

  1. It really depends on what you used the item for to begin with.  You can do a cleansing spell on anything, but you will have to allow yourself to get over and let go of the first use of it.  Personally, I would not reuse an item that is symbolic in a spell.  Reusing a stone, a candle,or a bag is ok, but binding ribbons, fabric, and  leaves, should be gathered again for your new spell.  I hope this helps.

  2. It depends on how central the items were to the previous spell you did. Use your gut instinct. If you look at the item and it reminds you of the spell already done, do not reuse it. If not, feel free to cleanse and reuse. And do NOT reuse candles from one spell to the next. Always start with a new candle for a new spell. I'm actually rather shocked to see anyone who claims to be a witch who would do such a thing. People need to stop reading those stupid and inaccurate Silver Ravenwolf books.

Note: Not all witches are wiccan, so there is nothing wrong with the way you worded the question.

  3. Depends on what I'm doing. The majority of the time I save and recycle, but if it's a particularly potent or darker spell, I burn or bury.

  4. Depends on the spell. Some spells require the items to be destroyed, like burn the candle till its finished, or something, but again, depends on the spell. Sometimes its a waste to just chuck it and I think that unless it says specifically not to use it again or destroy it, then use it again. Recycling shows you care.

  5. I reuse whatever I can.  If its a candle that didn't need to burn all the way down, it can be cleared of the previous energies and re-charged in order to be re-used.

    Waste not, want not.

  6. Wow. The correct term is "wiccan." And depending on the object you generally dispose of it because it holds onto the "spell" you've performed.
