  1. the chancellor is the opposite of robin hood.

he robes the poor to pay for middle class votes!

the trouble is the Tory's are the same, they like to look after there friends in high places, i just cant see an end too all this tax

  2. Well we're low paid and we lose a good fifth of our earnings in tax every month.  Then they take another £100 in Council tax, making it more like a quarter.

We get (most) of it back in tax credits though . . .

Pinball - we get tax credits because we have a very low income (under £15,000).

  3. Hi oobeedoo,

I like that word 'repugnent' but it is sadly not strong enough to describe the theft in question.

Politicians who deliberately mis-lead shoulld face prosecution - what do they get?? - a knighthood, a fat pension, and a job in the European Parliament (whatever that is).

Oh, and they should give the money back out of their own fat bank accounts !!

  4. No,we see right through them but feel powerless. I'm one of the lowest paid as a carer,I work 22/7 for £2-£2.50 per hour before deductions then they double my tax. I'm leaving the country for a while now I'm up to my non-taxable pay limit, come back in the new financial year,do the same again then move to Ireland where I earn over twice the amount for the same work. I just resent paying them any tax atall now and just doing it out of spite!

  5. no. this horrible repugnant government hasnt conned me. i know they think we're stupid and i know when ive been robbed.

edit.. ladymoon . good for you getting tax credits , whatever that is. i dont get any. i pay and get nothing back

  6. I can still visualise Gordon Brown at the dispatch box when he read out the budget last year. He was like a dog with fifteen tails when he read out the tax changes. He thought he was being so clever and all his back-benchers cheered like school kids. He is not so clever now though is he? Whichever way he tries to get out of this one he is going to get hammered. If he was an honourable man he would resign, but even now he will be working out how he can blame the Tories for the problem. He will have to be pushed out eventually or we can all say goodbye to stability.
