With 12-7 victory over Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds look forward to upcoming games – MLB
The Cincinnati Reds’ 12-7 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday, March 5, had some strong points to communicate. However, chief among those points as the team manager Dusty Baker views it is the starter Johnny Cueto’s outing.
The pitcher barely allowed a run in the game and gave up only two hits to win a spectacular victory over the Cleveland Indians. Cueto’s performance has also laid down the foundation for what the player is capable of achieving in the regular season.
As mentioned earlier, Dusty Baker found Cueto’s pitching display decent. "We're looking forward to hopefully trying to beat the Reds in one of these games in Spring Training," joked Lowe, whose Indians are 0-2-1 in their last three against the Reds in Spring
Training.
At a time when Ryan Madson was reported to have some irritation in the arm, the strong show by the pitchers has given a positive message about the team’s defence which might have become vulnerable in the aftermath of Madson’s fitness problems.
Nonetheless, the Reds performance in the Cactus League has so far remained satisfactory. The club will understandably be looking to gain maximum advantage from the opportunity at hand.
With the loss to the Reds, the Cleveland Indians are now looking for the next game which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6 against the Kansas City Royals. The competition will witness a new starter for the Indians. Kevin Slowey, as the report suggests, will
be the starter for the Reds at Goodyear Ballpark.
As for the Cincinnati Reds that scored the decisive victory, Mat Latos will have the ball on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. In the Peoria, Arizona the game will determine how instrumental Mat Latos can be as the newly acquired pitcher for the Reds.
The Reds’ impressive start in the Cactus League goes to show that they have surprises to offer in the regular season once it kicks off. Understandably, teams in the League are closely observing as to how the Reds play and how they execute their strategy
in their upcoming games. Cincinnati will be looking to carry their winning momentum forward.
