Question:

With China Breaking Its Olympic Promises Is It Time The Olympic Committee Publicly Apologise For This Farce?

Today the despicable Chinese Communist Party released 21 more rules further restricting the press and their reporting. It is clear that the freedom of press promise originally pledged by these disgusting dictators is not and never was going to materialise. I therefore now believe that it's time that the Olympic committee responsible for choosing this country publicly apologise to the whole free world for this pathetic farce and communist propaganda.

  1. HAHA! What does "taboo subjects" AKA against the govt HAVE ANYTHING to do with the Olympics?

Will the evil dictators of the Western mainstreams media stop using pack journalism and stop being bias for just one story?

    Hypocrite.

  2. I think the I.O.C. have plenty to apologise for. They appear to refuse to accept any responsibility for their failure to ensure that the chinese government follow through with the commitments they had agreed to.

    Shameful!

  3. What olympics LOL i have avoided the whole thing even the little girl that sang to open the games mimed LOL

Yes the whole thing is a money money money thing with what you said still going on behind

    Not interested in the slightest

  4. but if they do that they will be admitting they were wrong for allowing the games there in the first place, how any of those who win medals can take pride is beyond me, I would rather have a dose of the clap than be in receipt of a  tainted medal

  5. You are well aware how I feel concerning the Olympics, I do agree however that it should NEVER have been allowed to be there in the first place. But there are reasons, good reasons for letting it be..

I know little of China living in Wirral just as you know little in Glasgow. My neighbour has lived in China for over 20 years . It is a massively complex country and is making very tentative baby steps into the free world. To compare your own ideals and expectations on a country so entrenched in unfathomable practices is nothing short of conceit.

Apologies are just words. Any feckless @rse can mutter them. I reckon MILLIONS of people had no idea about life for the average Joe in China. Thanks to the Olympics and all this kind of debacle ...they do now.

  6. atleast they don't make wtc to attack countries and also they don't kill people for oil.what freedom of press when cnn only talks about usa intrests?

  7. Beijing should honor the IOC rewarding them to host the Oylmpics, that means accepting this noble sporting event without conditions.

  8. there'll be signs at heathrow airport soon

"welcome to the UK - made in china"

  9. while on the subject of apologies,i would like it if the British Olympic erm...Company apologised in advance for our athletes bringing home less medals than Uncle Albert

  10. You know the weird thing the Olympic committee agreed to the restrictions when they were doing up the contract. I found a copy of the agreement somewhere months ago and these things were on it. I think the media should really start learning French a lot more because they missed out on lots of interesting things that were in it. There is one section they have not mentioned yet do wonder when the News of the World will get round to it and it is on police operations to remove demonstrators. Yes they put that in it and there was no talk of any demo's when they drew up this contract.

  11. The Olympic Committee did try to make an effort to bring together all the nations for a celebration os sportsmanship.

Unfortunately (as we already knew) China fell short on meeting mostly all of our expectations.

So although the Committee did make a HUGE mistake and should apologize, I dont really think they will apologize. They will probably pretend nothing happened.

Let's just hope they take the political nature of a country more seriously next time... And besides, regardless of what city was chosen to host the Olympics, what really counts is the sportsmanship of these great athletes and the expectators.

  12. sorry I didn't post this in the UK *sighs*

    typical newb mistake!!!

  13. The Beijing Olympics have been great so far. Brilliant opening ceremony! And everything seems very well organised. The facilities appear to be excellent - despite what we were told by our media before the games started.

What problems are you referring to? I'm not aware of any. Our press is reporting everything that is going on.

ADD: I've looked at your Channel4 source and other sources. Seems the Chinese have given their own media 21 guidelines to show a 'positive spin.'  That's no different to when Alastair Campbell was telling the BBC and the press how to report government issues.

Seems a fuss over nothing. The chinese are not restricting western media - which is what you have tried to imply in your question. Who's spinning now???

  14. Hi Shambo, Communist countries don't allow freedom of any kind. They prefer to keep their people oppressed.

    Communists are cruel.

True, but they'll promise **** if they get stuff don't they? A bit like the politicians throughout the world.

  15. 'Communism is a socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production and property in general'

Communism is the social ideal - the only problem with it is humans.

It will only work for bees, wasps, hornets Germans and Chinese.

It is widely accepted that the Chinese are not the most honest people in the world, you honestly expected them to keep their word ? Hahahahahahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  16. freedom of the press is also the power to destroy without proof.
