With Directv I was wondering if there is a way to pick up locals from another area?

I live in Wisconsin, less than a mile from Illinois border. I want chicago local channels instead of Milwaukee local channels.

You have to get permission from the local Chicago stations which might make your Milwaukee stations unhappy.  But you can ask and you can apply.   You could also put up antenna and use either a built in ATSC tuner to pick up the local digital stations if your DirecTV box is capable of that.  Or you can put up an antenna and use a converter box or other ATSC receiver to get the Chicago stations (if you are close enough to Chicago).

direct tv give locals based on ur service adress  zipcode and if ur close in the spot beam in which carried the local channels    just give them a fake a adress with the zipcode for the city and see

you could always use sattlelit but theres no way
