The Dutch legend has claimed that the departure of the Barca head coach will bring drastic change at the Nou Camp.
Johan Cruyff, the man who served http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 as a player and a manager, has expressed the belief that maintaining the success rate achieved by the club’s outgoing manager will not be easy, claiming that the Catalan tactician is a rare genius and La Blaugrana
are likely to suffer in his absence.
Pep was given charge of the senior team in the summer of 2008, after Frank Rijkaard was relieved of his services. After becoming the team’s manager, Guardiola masterminded a flourishing run for the footballing juggernauts, leading them to a host of titles.
In his first season, Barca made history after they were able to achieve a first ever sextuple. These trophies included the Spanish La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.
The next two seasons saw the Nou Camp outfit retain their La Liga title, along with winning another Champions League trophy.
However, the 41-year-old announced his departure from the Spanish giants at the end of the current season’s campaign.
Cruyff has taken out time to point out that things will not be the same without Guardiola.
In addition to this, he also exclaimed that an uneasy relationship with the board forced the Spanish mentor to make his decision to part ways with the great club.
This is not the first time that the retired veteran has made such a statement. The former coach himself appears to despise the current board ruling the Azulgrana.
While talking to reporters, the 65-year-old was quoted as saying:
"Guardiola almost made perfect decisions and he had the support of club's higher-ups to protect him. After the elections, that was all gone. With Guardiola's exit, a cycle ends, because he was the one who had all the control."
"It would be nice if he could end this cycle by winning the Copa del Rey."
