With MagicJack do you still keep your internet dsl line and just cancel your land line phone service?

Thinking of ordering Magic Jack. I'm technically challenged and need to understand all the ramifications of ordering it. Does dsl service just come through the wall phone jacks in the house, so that the computer stays hooked up to the phone jack - and I still pay the phone co. (my dsl service provider) for the dsl?

that is right, you just need an internet connection... but if you are "technically challenged" you may want to think about keeping your landline for a while, or going with a VoIP provider that has an ATA, and not a USB soloution like MJ..

Your PC needs to be on in order to make or recieve calls with the MJ... this may or may not be a problem for you...

all you need is DSL ( dry loop) cable or any other high-speed ISP and your ready to install the MJ

yes, keep your dsl line and cancel your land line service. your dsl will still come through the phone lines, but your former land line service will just be shut off. and yes, you still pay the dsl service provider for the internet.
