  1. Yes, Magic-Jack is a ripoff. Service is flaky, incoming calls may or may not work, you need a really good broadband connection, (shaky on DSL) and there is NO support.. There will be spyware and spam received also when you put MagicJack software on your computer. It's like a 'TOY'..Get a REAL phone or VOIP service..

  2. It uses ur high speed internet connection. If you want to make an international call, just dial as if you were on a landline.

  3. With Magicjack, you receive your calls through your telephone connectod to the MJ USB adapter on your computer through your highspeed Internet connection.  So, your computer has to be on all the time to receive calls, or they go to voicemail.

If you want to make international calls to landlines, you need to purchase additional pre-paid calling credits.

However, their International rates are not as competative as CallCentrics.

  4. Majic Jack is a total scam.

You get a usb softmodem which costs nothing.

You have to install adware\spyware like Juno, you STILL have to pay a yearly fee....and you STILL have to buy credits...

Save yourself the trouble and just get skype......
