With Prince Fielder, Detroit Tigers will have an edge – MLB News

Without a shadow of a doubt, Prince Fielder is one of the most exciting and talented hitters in Major League Baseball right now. The left handed striker signed on a nine year $214 million (fourth largest in MLB history) contract with the Tigers during the
offseason and there are high expectations from him but can the hitter live up to the hype that has been surrounding him for the past few months?
In their first four games of this regular season, the Tigers have shown just why they are the favourites to win the World Series title this season. Their pitching attach is looking in supreme form, winning all four games despite the fact Tigers’ batting
lineup failed to scored more than five runs in any of their games. The way the Tigers played against Boston Red Sox 3-0 determined the threat other American League teams can expect to face throughout this year.
"I think it's now a situation where Prince obviously wants to prove to everyone that he's well worth the money,'' said former Cincinnati Reds’ shortstop Barry Larkin stated in an interview. "He's going to be impactful wherever he goes. He's an MVP type of
guy.''
"Prince is going to give the Tigers that emotional edge, where everybody knows they are there to win, not just there to show up,'' said former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Orel Hershiser. "That's the way he carries himself. He's going to give that team an
edge, just like Justin Verlander's 100 mph fastball.''
Fielder ended his contract with Milwaukee Brewers at the end of last season. In a display of some high quality hitting skills, the batter hit 38 home runs and 100-plus RBI’s. However, the big question is; can he deliver similar results for the club he always
wanted to become a part of? Along with Miguel Cabrera, Fielder will form one of the most dangerous hitting combination in MLB. If Fielder can do what he has been acquired for, he will surely take the Tigers to the World Series title glory and earn the Most
Valuable Player award for himself.
