  1. not in the UK

in the UK the Queen alone is HM at the moment

the Queen mother used to be following the coronation of her husband as king in 1937.

    the king is always HM.

all other members of the royal family, including the consort of a queen are HRH

  2. Only monarchs such as Kings and Queen are addressed as His or Her Royal Majesty. His Royal Highness or Her Royal Highness only appears in front of the names of some members of some royal families other than the King or Queen. The style of HRH is associated with the rank of prince or princess.

  3. majesty is for the king and queen ...royal highness is for the cround prince

  4. Your Majesty is the ruling monarch.  Your Royal Highness is other senior Royals, ie Princes Charles, Andrew and Edward, and Princess Anne and so on.  Incidentally you call the Queen "Your Majesty" and Mam - as in Jam after that.

  5. No. Monarchs are referred to as "Your Majesties."Royal Princes,Princesses,Royal Dukes and Duchesses, Royal Earls, Royal Marquesses and the like are "Your Royal Highnesses."

  6. "Your Majesty" is used when first addressing a King or Queen.  "Your Royal Highness" is used when first addressing a prince or Princess and (only occasionally) a spouse of a prince or princess.  After the first use, it is customary to use "Sir" for men and "M'am" (pronounced like 'jam' not 'farm') for women.

NB this is only for British style monarchies.  Someimes it would be inappropriate to use these styles for monarchs and it varies from country to country.

  7. Majesty is the constituted state name of a monarch. e.g. Cadiz Constitution was absolute and its state sovereign through state  willed as Corona Titulo as "King Phillip II of Spain"   and " His Royal Highness Don Antonio Peres of Astoria."

"His Royal Highness Don Ambrocio Concordio Peres Pulmano PHD of Navarre "  Through the constitution of State of Unified Germany Bundastag His Majesty King Clement II of Unified Germany.

Her Royal Highness Cepriana Maribuhuk Garcia Through the State Absolute Will of Cadiz Gibraltar Her Majesty Queen Sophie of Spain - UK & Unified Germany.

His Royal Highness Don Julio Maribuhuk Cuyos Naval Arch't Through Danish Magna Greacea Charta willed Thomas Carringer af Roma June 5th,1953 , His Majesty King Frederik IX of Denmark

Don't  know anything about your real factual monarch????

Well it's been fourty years of hollywood and Waltdesny Europe.

  8. Your Majesty is only when it'as king or queen you're addressing. Your Royal Highness is for any other royal. I don't know if those married into the royal family are called this though (eg Sophie Rhys Jones).

  9. Generally "Your Majesty" refers to the monarch or a dowager Queen (e.g. HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother)."Your Royal Highness" refers to another member of the Royal family (as long as they have that title - four of the Queen's eight grandchildren don't and won't).

The only exception is Principalities where the reigning Prince is still "Your Highness" (It's not always Royal Highness).

  10. I do believe the queen or king is referred to as "Your Majesty" and the prince and princess' are referred to as "Your Royal Highness".
