With Verizon FiOS, can I record programs I have recorded with the DVR onto a videotape?

I want to put a bunch of music videos I recorded with my Verizon FiOS DVR onto a videocassette. I just tried doing this by putting the tape into the VCR, getting my DVR-recorded program queued up, and recording it by pressing the record button on the VCR. It didn't work, though. Is this even possible to do?

  1. Your VCR prolly isn't connected right. The VCR needs to see what the DVR is playing.

  2. Yes it is possible.....

You just need to ensure tha the vcr is hooked up and set up to record channel 3.    the dvr broadcasts to the vcr on Channel 3 ....

    anywho  hope this helps....

  3. Yes you can, here is how:

The coax from the wall goes into the FIOS STB (set top box)

However you are coming out of the STB that goes into the VCR.

Then the cords going out of the VCR go to the TV.

Turn on all units.  Tune the TV to what ever inputs are being used by the VCR.

Play the DVR, if you can see it playing on the TV, you will be able to record it on the VCR.

If not you will need to change the channel on the VCR, usually it will be tuned to "3".
