My cousin is serving his last year with his license supsended. 3 years total and he is now serving the Penndot 1 year suspended for saying no to a breathalizer test.

He just moved to Orange County, california with me but the DUI was in Pennsylvania. Would they know that he has that on his record? Please explain . thank you

  1. yes all dmv records  are connected they may give you a license to start but could revoke it or suspended it and then you find out when you get stopped...

  2. The Interstate Driver's License Compact is an agreement between the 45 participating states to share information regarding certain types of convictions, including Drunk Driving (DUI and DWI) convictions.

Because of the Compact, if a resident of one state gets convicted of a drunk driving offense (DUI and DWI) in another state, the driver's home state will be advised. The type of action that the driver's home state will take will vary from state to state.

The list of states, below, indicates whether a given state belongs to the Interstate Driver's License Compact, and if so, the year they joined. Wisconsin, Tennessee, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Michigan are all Non-compact states and don't share Drunk Driving (DUI and DWI) conviction information.

  4. Jules it would not be difficult for Californian authorities to find out about DUI that happened in Pennsylvania. But that is not a big concern, because it is good to tell facts than hiding them. Your cousin would get the license here in California though.

  6. Yes he can get a license and yes they will know because just like all states Pennsylvania and California both belong to the Drivers License Compact (DLC) which requires member states to report any and all tickets bank to the licensing state of the motorist.

  7. Yes.  They will.  when he goes it will say he has a suspended pa license.  he must go before a judge.  he would only be able to get permission to drive back and forth from school, work, or dr. appts.  That's better than nothing though right?

umm dont drink and drive okay.  cause that's bad...haha
