With a chemical pregnancy do you get a positive urine HCG result. ?

My period was about 12 days late [has never happened before]. I had all of the pregnancy symptoms [I have been pregnant before] but no positive HCG urine result. I have just started bleeding but it is not a normal period.....

This happened to me last month. i tested on my due af date and had a positive test 2 days later i had a huge painful bleed with a lot of clotting even before i had gone to docs to confirm the pregnancy. its very common and only because pregnancy tests are so advanced these days is the reason why women are realising it has happened to them. 75% of women through their child bearing age will have a chemical pregnancy and mistake it for their usual period. As you were actually quite late (more than 3 or 4 days) it would be defined as an early miscarriage rather than a chemical pregnancy but both are very similar. 1 week later and my pg tests were negative with Chemical. It sounds like maybe you were and the pregnancy isn't viable. I could be wrong, but the only thing that will give you an accurate answer is a blood test to check hcg levels. Tell them you had a positive and now you are bleeding. that will be exactly what they check if you tell the  doctor that.

You can get one, sometimes you don't though. It depends on how far the pregnancy actually goes and the amount of hcg. A chemical pregnancy occurs far more often than most people believe, it happens when the egg is flawed for whatever reason and your body aborts it. The cycle following is usually heavier, darker and sometimes contains tiny clots.

I believe I had one this last month, although my cycle was only a day late and very odd. It sucks, but it happens. Good luck!

Yes you do. I just had one. I am never late and As of last monday I was 3 days late so I got a test and it was +. Well went to the doctor on thursday and they confirmed.Woke up friday morning and I was bleeding. Went to the doctor and the hcg level was 57 went yesterday and it was 29 so I had a chemical pregnancy/miscarriage. You should have gotten a + hpt. I would suggest going to see your doctor since af was so late... GOOD LUCK
