With all the attention now focused on the pennant race, and the recent run of complete games. The Mets are still faced with Bullpen issues. For 3 years this team is faced with the same issues! Now one of the more recent issues is the Mets innability to score runs down the stretch.... 7, 8, 9 and beyond. This is stunning considering they have the fire power to do it with. They have to score early and often, and rely on great starting pitching to get it done. Latin ball players in the majors historically have a mental collapse in the clutch. There are instances where Latins do come through under pressure, but its that same... 'im gonna go for the fences mentality that gets them into trouble. During the trade deadline for the Mets, Minaya has once again done nothing with the bullpen situation. Even to bring up a rookie from the farm system. They got rid of Randolph, but i still see another collapse on the rise. Irregardless of what kind of faith i have in the team. This bullpen is not the one.... Even after 3 days of not being used, they still find a way to cough up runs. With that said, Ayala found a way to lose a crucial game against the Phils. I think its time to get someone that can get the right keys into place. If we are ever to compete in october. The GM and his shoddy decisions, must go!!! What do you think?

  1. they truly do have a c**p bullpen, and the lack of hitting at the bottom is bad. you also have to look at the fact that the rest of the defense isn't doing much either. this is a team of underachievers and that's that. They fired their coach in the crappiest of way and showed that they are a classless team, and their gm should be the one who takes the blame.

  2. assess the future when the season is over

  3. firstly

he cant be fired at the end of the year his contract is done

secondly he shouldnt get all the blame because he put the core of this team togethor

and made great financial decsions in signing wright & reyes

    now

    his descions are skeptical

and he has not been able to develop a farm system

he has not got depth to help the teams when they get injuries.

  4. The Mets gave up too much to get Santana. They have nothing in their farm system to offer to get bullpen pitching. They put ALL their eggs in one basket to get Santana. Why do you think the Red Sox and Yankees didnt sign Santana? Twins wanted too much and the Mets were stupid enough to make the trade. Now their stuck!!

  5. I would have fired him right after the trade deadline for not getting any relief pitchers that are worth paying and playing instead of wasting spots on the roster for people in the mets bullpin and the first responce is not true they have about 11 million in there salary cap and you can get atleast one decent pitcher out of that and they can release players and trade other players
