Personally, are you and your family doing anything different? Any personal cutbacks? Or are you continuing on as you always have?

  1. To save gas: plan trips into town to accomplish all chores in a single trip (post office, groceries, shopping, eating out)

To save money: Combine all charge card debts into one source and aggressively pay it off while NOT using any other credit cards. Saving all change in piggy bank.

Traded big SUV for compact car with twice mpg.

Competitively shop via internet...often paying postage is less than gas to shop for it.

    No vacation this year.

  2. We're continuing like we always have.

There's really no other choice. We have to work...and that's that. And since we live in a rural/suburban setting, there isn't any metro transportation to get us to work.

  3. I am actually saving money. I am no longer spending money on stupid things anymore. I live in town and work at one of my jobs in town, so I'm still buying gas only once a week. We still aren't at the point of skimping on produce and meats. We hate WalMarts produce and meat section so we still go to Safeway and spend more on it. I'm sure that will change soon.I picked up a second job so that we can still live somewhat normal, even though most of the money is going toward gas as my husband has to commute 40+ miles to work one way.

  4. Coupons, coupons, coupons. Sales, sales, sales. Deals, deals, deals. I look like I spend like crazy, but I ALWAYS know to buy the stuff I need and want for dirt cheap. So, I am going with my life as normal, just spending less with coupons, sales, and deals. I don't drive, but since I live in NYC, I don't have to. I just jump on the bus or the train.

  7. badly

  8. Spending less money and trying to save more money.

I.E. Having a lot less fun.

  9. Yes we are. We changed our light bulbs to the low CF L's, we wait until we have a full load of dishes before turning on the dishwasher, and unfortunately we are not mowing the grass as frequently or watering the yard. We plan our outings to include other distentions we need to go to in one trip since we live 10 miles from town.

  10. we do personal cutbacks... eventhough its quite difficult...

    afterall, we must save :)
