downgrading and racist when it comes to Obama? It seems like I have answered so many questions that make no sense but are truly posted based upon ignorance and racial hatred?!? If Obama was white, do you REALLY think the bigots would open their mouths as much? Why does it seem like there is so much hate from the Republican party? I know there are idiots in both parties, and I really don't call myself a Democrat, but I truly cannot see associating myself with a party that has such bigoted values? Are they "afraid" that a black man may be capable of turning this Country back around?

  1. i dont really see the skin color as an issue, but his religion. if he was a christian, i dont think we would hear so much stupidity spilling from some peoples mouths. like alot of people saying he is the anti-christ. (blah blah blah) i havent really heard anything come from the democrat party, but more from the republican party. a huge percentage of republicans are hard core christians, and hate to see a muslim man running for president.

  2. Garrett Morgan invented the gas mask in 1912. Then in the 1920s his automatic stop light made driving safer.

Granville Woods Invented an improved steam boiler furnace in 1884. Also patented more than 150 electrical devices including the original telephone system and transmitter and the railway telegraph.

Lewis Latimer invented an important part of the light bulb — the carbon filament.

Otis Boykin (1920–1982) invented the electronic control devices for guided missiles, IBM computers, and the pacemaker.

George Washington Carver (1860–1943) invented peanut butter and 400 plant products!

Fast Fact: Carver was born a slave. He didn't go to college until he was 30.

There are many, many more great Black Americans that have invented and/or contribute to this country...why can't one run it?

The fear of a "Black" man or any man/woman other then a White man scares the "Good Old Boys" of days long past...oh well, I guess they need to get over it :-)

We need to elect a "Good President" whether white, black or green with tiny polka dots...we just need a change!

OK, I'm done venting now :-)

  3. Racism,in any form,is to be condemned.

Bruce J,with all due respect, this is the "Other Society and Culture" category.

  4. honestly, it is very ignorant to insult someone based on their race.  i mean, no one can honestly help being a certain color.  i think that it is people with the problem, not the republicans.  i am a republican because i see the values and issues that we share.  i disagree with most of the political stances that the dems have come to support.  also, there are many republicans of african american heritage.  just look at codilezza rice.  she is holding a very high position, not only for a woman, but she is also black.  there are many republicans that would never insult someone based on race.  the election should be based on political stance, not race, anyway.

  5. "All DUE respect..."

And if you want to see some offensive questions about Obama, then look in the "Politics and Government" section, not here in R&S.

  6. Ignore them- I don't think the people here, their demeanor, and the often incredibly crude, racist opinions they voice are at all representative of the general public. I seriously doubt their numbers are significant enough to influence the outcome of the election in any shape, form, or fashion. If Obama doesn't win, it won't be because of the people here on Yahoo! Answers- it'll more likely be due to election fraud/voter disenfranchisement. I enjoy reading the rants and racist drivel that they post- it's hilarious! I trust the vast majority of the American public is very well informed about both McCain and Obama.

  7. America is full of biased, racist people. Just read some of the answers around here. I think you've realized that, though.

I have no problem with a black guy being President. Really, when you think about it, the president doesn't have a whole bunch of power. The "checks and balances" with the Congress and whatnot are there for a reason.

  8. It makes me wonder sometimes.  Very well educated people stooping to internet rumors and innuendo. Sad, very sad.

  9. I am Black, so I will say this. Honestly, there is hate towards OBAMA and McCain, thats the key thing to remember. People rip on McCain about his age on here all the time and people rip on Obama on his race all the time. It is because one of the two men will end up being the president of this country and being a high figure in this nation, there is a lot of hate about it.

Honestly, the name Obama scares me lol, I mean if it was Shaun Williams or something like that then I would not be scared of him but seriously, Obama, just think about the name. Obama.

Well, I am gonna vote for him ^_^

    OBAMA 08!
