-Losing Conklin will hurt Penguins b/c along with Malkin, Conklin carried Penguins in middle of the season big time.

-Nobody talks about his brilliant stuff that he did to keep the Penguins sniffing the playoff chances.

  1. I'm sad to see Conklin go. He proved to be a good goalie on out team, he gave MAF a lot of fabulous advise (yes, i said fabulous) and he helped carry us to the cup... But i'm assuming that Shero knows what he's doing.

I don't think that losing the players we have will affect anything.. I guess we all just have to wait and see.

  2. I think they will be a 6th-8th place team they are losing a lot of pieces and after malkins tank job in the finals he will have a slow start along with sykora but this team will manage to squeak in but probably a 1st round exit

  3. don't worry. you'll see us in the playoffs...and the finals. We didn't lose that many players and we might get Jaromir Jagr back. We still have a good team and even if we don't make the finals we will still play well.

  4. As much as I would love to believe it, I can't say that they wont succeed.  As of now they still have Malkin and Crosby...that puts them ahead of most teams.....Let's see what the rest of the offseason holds (Hossa) and then we can reassess....As for now I sitll think they are a power...

  5. what changes? the only changes that are critical aren't even for sure yet, Hossa and Orpik. other than that we've lost replaceable 3rd and 4th liners, Malone was ok yes but he wasn't great. All the players we lost are replaceable easily.

    Crosby

    Malkin

    Fleury

    Staal

    Sykora

    Gonchar

    Whitney

    Letang

    Dupuis

What a load of c**p players eh?

  6. They play in the Eastern Conference, I wouldn't be surprised if they clinch 1st.

  7. erica you sound like me this time last year talking about my Sabres

    we still had

    vanek

    miller

    campbell

    pominville

    afiniginov

    roy

    tilinder

    stafford

    and look what happened

so all im saying is dont count on them being any good at all

  8. There is no doubt in my mind that will still make the playoffs we only lost a few people no need to worry we still have our offensive firepower and who knows maybe we will get some more players through free agency by the way we still have Fleury

  9. I think there is some trouble brewing in Pitt. What does the goalie situation look like now? Is there a suitable back up with enough experience to handle the load, should Fleury go down for another lengthy stretch? While you lose some replaceable  3rd and 4th liners, what does that say to the other free agents that are left. Seems that those that could, have abandon ship. The Pens will have a hard time getting to the 2-3 round if even that far. It appears the Pens have a mini rebuilding year/s ahead.

  10. They will still make it, no problem.

They still have their offensive firepower, and their defense was never that great.  It doesn't take much to stand out in the east.

ERICA:  I agree, I don't think the Pens will be much different than they were this year.  Personally, I feel that the Pens were not very good defensively last year, yet they still did very well... I do not see that changing all that much.  Yes, Orpik, Malone, Hossa, Roberts, etc did help them (you) last year, but I see those as easily replaceable... you will do fine.

Remember last year, when Sid went down for a few weeks?  No Crosby, no Fleury, no Hossa... and the team had one of their best stretches of the year.  I don't foresee any problems for the pens.  Of course... I hope I'm wrong. :)

EDIT:  TNA, I definitely think Conklin did wonders while Fleury was out.  But, I think Fleury is capable of handling the load, I don't see goaltending as being one of their issues (barring injury of course, but you can say that about any team)

  11. We only lost Ryan Malone, Gary Roberts, Adam Hall, Ty Conklin how does that stop us from going into the playoffs?

  12. I've  been kicking this around myself. Malkin and Crosby don't worry me, those two will always perform. I think Malone was key for us, he was a huge factor when Malkin was hot, and breaking that 2nd line apart is wrong. Hossa needs to comeback, but won't. Orpik will also go. As will Laraque, Ruutu, and Beech. I think greed will get the best of Jordan Staal in signing a contract, and he will demand big money, and he is not the player many think he is. So he will be here on more year only. To me, the core of the team is breaking apart. The core was the guys that were here when the Pens were pretty bad. I don't think the Pens will be anyone to worry about next year. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I feel Orpik (if we lose him, very probable ), Malone, Roberts and Hall mean a lot more than people think. The addition of this Godard is a joke as well. I looked at his stats, and he hasn't even completed one NHL season in his career. Plus the resigning of Eaton is horrible. I don't care what they pay, he's still injury prone. Finally I'll be able to get tickets though next season.

  13. Sidney Crosby

    Sergei Gonchar

    Ryan Whitney

    Kris Letang

    Petr Sykora

    Jordan Staal

    Evgeni Malkin

    Marc-Andre Fleury

What a sucky lot of players, eh?

  14. I hear they still have this guy named Crosby on their team though...
