...oh heath>are you suggesting that people are living longer because of the pharmaceutical industry?...wow-You must work for them-the answer to my question would be much easier to understand if you just said the truth...NO-there are no cures for anything because they are guilty of holding back...and I think that would be a moral crime against God's plan and their gift-sad.

  1. The money is in 'treating", not curing.....curing only produces one sale.

  2. That's a tricky question. It really depends on how you look at things. What has *actually* been cured recently? (We'll say recently is the last 100 years) Honestly, nothing pops into my head. I'm sure there are things, but nothing pops into my head.

However, has the money that the pharmaceutical companies spent made huge advancements in better living for millions of people in the last 100 years. You bet it has!

Take diabetes for instance. Not too long ago if someone had diabetes they would die. Then there were advancements that helped them. They had to test their urine. Doesn't that sound like a fun thing to do? Now you can simply poke your arm and a couple seconds later it's all over with.

And the meds themselves...holy cows!! There are many meds out there today that literally save lives that weren't available 50 or even 30 yrs ago. A lot of meds that allow folks to lead healthy, normal lives...without the meds folks lives would be horrible and unbearable. Why do you suppose it is that each generation lives longer than the one before it?

I saw that one poster here made a short list of sicknesses that have been helped by meds...but I don't remember what she listed now, so forgive me if I repeat some of them...

    Cancer (Human Papilloma Virus) Vaccination

Chicken Pox Vaccination (did you know that Shingles infects 50% of folks over age 60 who have had the chicken pox and can cause some serious problems and sever pain this vac stops that from occuring)

Penicillin (and all the other antibiotics that have stemmed form that and the lives it has saved)

    Seizure preventative meds

Calcium Supplements (osteoporosis is no longer something women have to fear)

Thyroid meds (did you know that they have pinpointed the reason for some causes of dwarfism...and wiped it out?)

Aspirin (preventing heart attacks by thining blood or helping by taking when having a heart attack, aspirin may be nothing new, but this use is)

Meds to get folks off of drugs, to quit drinking, to quit smoking, etc. (you didn't see those 10 yrs ago)

Heck, even allergy meds make a huge difference in people's daily lives!

I really could go on and on here, but you get the idea.

There's just one last thing I'd like to add to the list. Something that most folks would never think of...it's a drug that's distributed as a patch that surgeon's use to prevent scar tissue from forming. They wrap it around or place it over the areas where they have cut during surgery, it then dissolves within so many weeks, the time that scar tissue is trying to form. I've had three surgeries. Two did not have these patches used and I developed scar tissue and adhesions that are very painful. The other surgery used the patches and I've had no problems at all. I'd say this product has the ability to wipe out scar tissue problems.

So, I'd say, YES, there are cures for many things.

  3. I believe there is a cure for polio.  And rickets.  Probably scurvy, too.

  4. Divorce still works.

  5. Well, remember an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We now have vaccines against:

    measles

    mumps

    rubella (german measles)

    hepatitis (a & c)

    polio

    whooping cough (pertussis)

    chicken pox

and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head!

  6. Oh YES you better believe cures have been found. But cures are NOT Lucrative (remember pharmaceutical companies are loyal 1st and foremost to their BOTTOM LINE)..therefore these cures are never made known to the Public...The GIANT Pharmaceutical Companies would stand to lose ALOT (billions) of money on diseases that their MEDS just Mask if CURES were made known and used. Therefore  'THEY' pay dearly to keep them from becoming made known.

  7. they all got over being poor

  8. That's not the general idea.

The idea is to "manage" an illness.  Such as with diabetes.  That way, you have a dependant market who have no choice but to rely on corporate medical ransom.

And to anyone in a country where they think they receive free health care:  No you do not.  It is "free at the point of need".  Don't forget you have to pay national insurance in the UK, and it's equivalent in other countries, as well as prescription charges direct taxation and stealth tax.
