With all the rumors about "Smoke" being unhappy @JGR what are the chances we see Logano in his car next year?

In only 3 Nationwide races Logano has posted 2 poles and 1 win. He's only 18yrs old too!! With the success Kyle and Denny are having replacing an unhappy Stewart with a young kid that can obviously race might not be a bad move for Joe Gibbs. I'm not saying Logano is better than Stewart by any means but c'mon if he's unhappy let him go. I think Logano would be a perfect fit w/ JGR in a Cup car. It sure would be fun to watch atleast. Heck maybe he'll teach Kyle a thing or too, lol! Anyway lemme know what you think?

  1. I believe that Joey will be racing for Gibbs in cup next year.

Lagano and Stewart are both good drivers, Tony is more seasoned and has a knowledgeable head on his shoulders.  In addition, he has calmed down and he is ready to be an owner of a team.

In conclusion, Lagano will race Cup for Gibbs next year and Tony  will have his own team, which is what I believe he is ready for.

**I do not think Tony is unhappy at Gibbs, I just think he has learned all he needs from Gibbs to move up and be a team owner himself.

  2. Smoke NEVER said he was unhappy at JGR! He said things are good and have never been better there! And that JGR is the best as its ever been. I think if we see Logano in the cup next year it will NOT be in Tony's car!

  3. What rumors about Smoke being unhappy at JGR??

I've only heard him say that there is nothing wrong and you don't fix what's not broken...

  4. that c**p will change

    he wont stay on top

daytona will slow him down with about 12 cup drivers out there

  5. With Smoke I think you need to let rumors be just that.

For 1 thing Tony Stewart hates the media. He doesn't like cameras and reporters up in his face getting in his personal life or digging for info about his future career intentions. Unless Tony says for sure he hates JGR or the circumstances there then I would just not pay attention to hearsay.

  6. Regardless of what Stewart does, you should see Joey in a Cup car for at least a few races by the end of this season.I don't know if Joe,J.D.,or Joey want to go full-time Cup next season, but it IS a possibility.I agree with you that Joey is an immensely fun driver to watch and it is probably because his talent is so raw.I also agree that he would be a perfect fit for a Cup car(he will probably win a Cup race within 3 starts as well...not joking).Mark Martin told Joe Gibbs that Joey had enough talent to race Cup cars when Joey was still 15!!!!!!

  7. Joey will be in cup next year with Joe Gibbs, just not the 20 car. You'll see.

  8. I think in a perfect world the Gibbs guys want to see Logano keep winning in Nationwide and Stewart stay to the end of his contract. This way when they bring Logano up next year there is a veteran driver for him to learn from rather then the two young fireballers. Remember, there are only 3 cars in the JGR stall right now, they have room for one more. Joey can come up while Tony is still there.

But to answer the question posed, Yes I think if Tony leaves you will see Logano jump from Nationwide to Sprint cup, just not change his number.

  9. And just where have you heard about Tony being unhappy?  Sheesh...  Where do you people come up with this stuff?

  10. Well Tony has said he was never unhappy with JGR. (He may have a slightly different opinion nowadays as he the only JGR driver without a win yet this season). Anyway he is intrigued by the offer of ownership in NASCAR that Haas CNC is apparently offering him.

Personally I hope he doesn't make the mistake of Bobby Labonte & leave the team just because of a current slump.

But if Tony does leave I think that the most logical replacement would be Logano in the #20. But if he doesn't then I guess JGR could expand to a 4 car team in 2009 (part time anyway with Logano) to a full time 4th team in 2010 with Logano.

  11. i think joey still to young let go rest the year and half season next year or part in cup an go from there

  12. Trust me when I tell you that if Tony were unhappy at JGR, we'd all know it, because he'd have told us about it!

Tony's not one to hold back. Never has been, never will be!

So until the day comes that I hear it directly from him, I'll just let rumors be rumors.
