  1. I just think the socialization that comes with having children in schools is so important.  They get to interact with a variety of people - both students and teachers.  It is good to give a child a variety of teachers, too.  Teachers all have different teaching styles.  It is good to expose your children to this.  If you home school, they are "stuck" with the same teacher year, after year, after year . . .

And although the school shootings are tragic, they are minimal when compared to how many schools there are in America.  I would not use that as a reason to home school.

    Just my opinion.

  2. Well, home schooling is a difficult task, but there is many things out there (books, interenet, libraries etc) that can help you out.

The only downside is socialising - your son won't unless of course someone round the area already knows him.

Also it will take up a lot of time. 5 hours of education a day, and you have to set 'home' homework where you give them a task to complete outside the schooling hours

However he will never have the problem of bullying, and nasty teachers!

  3. It's a lot of work, and there's some things kids learn in public school that you just can't get out of homeschooling.
