Have they overlooked Checks and Balances?

I understand much of what they say, is just to get them the job, but not all of it can be lies. My question is, how exactly do they plan (both sides) to stir up Washington, if their ideas can get shot down in Congress?

Last time I checked, Checks and Balances were working just fine, am I missing something? If so, can someone clarify?

  1. None of them deserve to be president, they stand up in front of the american people and LIE right throught their teeth, or in Mccains case, false teeth.  They don't have to the power to do 99% of the things they say they will do.  They should be held accountable for their misleading and false statements.  Only congress how the power to make laws and such.  The president has only a couple powers and even those are very limited.

  2. Same thing happens every four years.  Nothing new.
