With change of headgear, Tarbawi holds decent chance in 32Red Nursery at Kempton
Saeed Bin Suroor’s 2-year-old, Tarbawi, travelled quite nicely the last twice, missing the crown narrowly on both occasions. On his latest start at Kempton, the Godolphin-owned finished second just by a nose.
A couple of consecutive runner-up places are good to suggest that the novice needs something different. Making a timely move, the camp has changed the headgear back in 6-furlong nursery.
So, one can easily expect him to add the required thing to thrive in the 32Red Nursery at Kempton on Thursday, November 15th. The class 4 meeting is due to get started at 18:55 GMT.
Tarbawi faced three straight unlucky defeats early in the career. Learning a good lesson from his mistakes, the bay gelding started showing improvement last month, when finishing second just a short head’s distance at Lingfield.
After capturing the second place, he came to Kempton for the first time. Continuing the marvellous work, the Darley-bred ran superbly, but again remained slightly unlucky a few days ago.
Things are likely to change this time, as the connections have adopted a different strategy. There is no doubt over Tarbawi’s racing skills, and it is just a matter of time when he starts adding the final touch. According to our calculations, the time has come for Anabaa’s son to get off the mark.
Exotic Isle will be the biggest threat, making her nursery debut back from a few weeks of break. The Ralph Beckett-trained opened her account here at the end of September, when beating Bold Prediction by half a length in the Win Big With Betdaq Multiples Maiden Stakes.
The situation is entirely different, but the filly surely deserves respect following her good win. Including her, seven horses have made it to the line-up, and the winner will get a prize of £3,429.
Tommy’s Secret has shown mixed form since winning the Goodwood maiden. So, others are preferred. Eminently was well held in a Listed meeting last time, but this is more realistic. Majestic Jess was third at Wolverhampton last time, but looks fairly exposed.
Provencal needs improvement after being held at big prices in three maidens. Gracious George showed great progress on nursery debut here, and could be a threat to the principals.
