With global warming becoming such a problem, why does it seem like our winters are getting worse/colder?

  1. The global warming trend is a world-wide average and only about 0.15 C each decade. So the changes are much to slow to notice by just observing a few winters in your own region. That's why scientists have to look at temperature readings over decades of time and from all over the surface of the planet to detect it.

If you lived near the Arctic, the changes would be much more obvious (as that area is warming up more quickly than the average and the decreasing ice extent can be observed in a relatively short time period).

  2. Global warming is caused by Solar radiation variations, despite all the self loathing protestations that we are the cause. Read a little beyond the bird cage bottom rags and note that both Jupiter and Mars are experiencing warming, are they driving SUV's there now too??

Oh those wacky Martians, ya just never know

Please folks, do some research and stop being led around by the nose by these bozos

  3. because there is no such thing as global warming,at least man made. the earth is always going through warm/cooling trends .

  4. It may be that as we age, our metabolism slows down.

People may be setting thermostats to lower settings to save energy.

  5. even if true, weather is not a measure of global warming.  For every bad boy storm that is suppose to be a GW symptom, there are 10 bigger storms prior to whatever date you believe is the start of the GW issue.

  7. because we are not taking care of the planet.

  8. Somebody secretly turned down the thermostat on the heater last year and only a few have noticed it yet.

  9. Global mean temps have fallen since 1998 so it may explain why it feels colder, though there may well be many other factors behind it aswell. The ocean appears to be switching into a cooling phase for example.
