Like, voices from the heavens, and rock carving when the earthlings thought it to be impossible... and, ascending to the heavens in a beam of light... How does anyone believe anything written in the bible?
I mean, if you all saw the same things happen today, you would all be closer to saying aliens exist, than thinking that it must be a god.
Are you just insistent that it is true because your parents told you that when you were little? Because you were told this as (excuse the term) "gospel" before your mind had the ability to distinguish fact from fiction, and you have simply never really questioned it since?
I am not trying to be spiteful or rude, I just don't understand. If you read the same things in something not called a 'bible', (such as something labelled mythology), you would have a closed mind to it being so, because you've been told that? Who told you? Are you sure even THEY knew? We are all people, no one person is better, or holier than anyone else. So no one person knows better than anyone else, they were simply told so. Which brings the question to mind - who told them? Their parents? Who were they? Maybe wayyyy back down the line somewhere, they were simply trying to make a dollar, and it all got carried away?
I mean, you know at one point in history, if people didn't go to church and donate, they were damned as witches and burnt, or called pagans, and killed, etc etc etc. The 'school bully' comes to mind. "Give me your lunch money!"
So like I said, not trying to be rude, just need to understand how Christianity is, (and bible based religions are), still today so widespread, when the world around us seems to say otherwise.
