Question:

With impending rain this afternoon, don't you think NASCAR should move the qualifying time up at Richmond?

I have never seen them do it but since this is the last race before the cutoff it would be the most logical thing to do.........plus it is an impound race. This gives EVERYONE a chance to make the race.

  1. That would be the most logical thing to do,but how often does NASCAR use logic.

  2. They should. Like I have said many times before, the folks that run Nascar aren't idiots. They know when there is a chance of rain, and in this case a hurricane. They need to build some adjust-ability into the weekends so things can be moved around to accommodate everyone. Richmond isn't that far from Charlotte, but for races like Phoenix, and the races in California the owners spend alot of money to get the cars out there and it has a tremendous effect on those small team owners if they don't even get the chance to make it. I wish they would go back to having two qualifying sessions. That has built in adjust-ability in itself.

  3. NASCAR should do a lot of things different but they don't. It all comes down to the all mighty dollar and tv.

  4. I totally agree with you on this. They should move the qualifying time up on all races that have a good chance of rain coming,, especially

this race being the last one til the chase. It is only the fair thing to do.

  5. That would be great. I doubt they will though.

  6. I think the issue is they are cramming nationwide in this morning, plus practice then qualifying and practice, and there is just so much time, however, I think their goal should be to get cup out of the way first. The weather is not promising for getting the race in either....

  7. Rain, rain go away come again another day.

That would be practical if they could move qualifying up.  I do not think they will. Logic and nascar do not mix.

  8. In a perfect world that would be how it works but you are talking about NASCAR.  The other thing I have proposed in the past is having the go or go homers qualify at the first available opportunity in the event that qualifying gets rained out.  In that scenario I would still line the cars up in order of points except for what Joey Logano calls "trash".  I would then line up those back of the pack guys how they qualified, after the top 35.

  9. The only time i have seen Nascar move up anything  was the start of a race because of predicted weather..they have done that a few times the past couple of years

  10. It would be nice, but it would sure mess up the broadcasters' schedules, so I don't see NASCAR doing it.

  11. It would be nice, but it happening slim to none.

With bad weather on its way  I am just hoping to see a race at all this weekend.

I am praying that everyone will be safe down there.

  12. Most definitely !, but the race may still be cancelled.

  13. that's a double edged sword, getting qualifying in for races usually is a goal i think they should shoot for. but this gives the people on the bubble a chance to actually race each other for the spots if it is cancelled. this would also leave joey logano out and and keep him from having any type of impact on the chase he has had no influence on up to this point.
