I mean can i transfer movies from my reciever to my pc?

Currently, the only way to transfer your recordings is to use a video capture card/device with your computer and play the recording from your DVR while recording it to your computer.  The USB connections are for future use (and to connect the AM-21 OTA tuner).  Rumor has it that later this year, DirecTV will issue a software update that allows the USB connections to be used to transfer recordings, but it currently doesn't work.

Sorry, you can't really copy movies and then watch them, the usb cable is there so you can put new files when your reciever goes down.
