With nokia 6110 naviagtor connected

Question

with nokia 6110 naviagtor connected via usb to my pc, route 66 gives me an error message saying "device not connected" with <quit> being the only option. I've re-booted the PC (windows 2000 pro) with and without the 6110 connected and still can't get route 66 to recognise the phone.
