  1. Did you mention that over 20 million are illegals? Universal health care means only the rich who buy their own health care will get QUALITY health care from doctors who remain in private practice and do not accept insurance.

Government run means the same bureaucracy as with any government run program. Too many flies in the ointment. It just doesn't fly!

And it takes away another freedom: The freedom of choice, while putting the burden of paying for it on the hard working taxpayer. It also would cost so much , again I would ask who will pay for homeland security, and better intelligence agencies?

What is truly needed is insurance reforms!

  2. I think we need it. And I am one of those that is insured. I don't know why though as the insurance companies don't pay most of the claims.

  3. Against it all the way.  just higher taxes all around.  No hospital has the right to refuse treatment to a sick person.  The gov has to much regulation over the healthcare industry anyway.  If we put in national healthcare, then taking care of sick people will only get worse due to more paper-work, and less patient care.

  4. I'm very open to the idea, but my only concern is how much our taxes would go up. I'm a healthy person and I rarely see a doctor unless something is seriously wrong with me, which almost never happens. I havent seen a doctor in years, I probably should just to get "check up's" here and there, but I can't always afford to help pay for the doctor's vacations and luxury cars.

I like the idea in case my health would ever go south, or had any serious injuries, but I would like to hear more about how much I will be raped in taxes before making up my mind.

  5. Americans believe the next president should insure millions of americans. Also, healthcare is very expensive.

  6. Although I personally favor a national health care program I don't think that there have been any reliable national polls on the subject.

  7. I know people who can't afford health insurance. I like Hillarys plan. I would be able to keep my present coverage. I would like to see it become the law.

  8. It is not the governments business to provide health insurance for anyone.

  9. I support it and I pay for my own insurance.  Bottom line, I feel that if someone is sick they should be treated.  Simply cruel and inhumane to deny someone treatment.  Things happen.  People lose their jobs along with their insurance.  Hope this never happens to my husband who is the sole bread winner.  If it did, I would want me and my family to be taken care of if one of us got sick.  People get sick.  Rich or poor.

  10. First of all, the figure you mention is extremely misleading. At least 1/3 of the uninsured number is made up of illegal immigrants. Secondly, approximately 1/2 of the uninsured either have employer-based coverage but turn it down, or are eligible for federal and/or state coverage but have not applied for it.

In short, let's get the existing coverages distributed before we create larger federal bureaucracies.

  11. We are giving the people of Iraq 20 Billion to rebuild what we bombed...but we cannot afford 6 billion to start a healthcare program for us the taxpayers who fund all the c**p in the firstplace? My greatgrandchildren are going to be paying for our national debt, and to think we allowed it to happen...

  12. Greetings. I know how this one feels about it.  Universal Healthcare would be run by the government here, would it not?  has the government ever done anything and had it turn out right during your life time?  it is always over priced, over promised and usually a disaster for all concerned other then the administrators there of who come out smelling like roses and richer then Mides.  Want to get rid of the problem then stop allowing the medical schools, that are sponsored by the  drug corporations, to limit the numbers of people who can be trained as doctors so the costs remain high for even the most incompetent doctors.  In China they have socialized medicine, not by building huge multi billion dollar super hospitals but by training a huge number of qualified people to be doctors and travel about the country.  Costs next to nothing compared to how we do it.  And you get better care since the doctors, they call them barefoot doctors, actually give a d**n if you live or die and not how much money they will make this year.  I saw a thing on the internet using data from the FBI on the chances of one getting killed by a firearm and by the Medical association on the chances of getting killed by a doctor making a mistake or misprescribing drugs.  it came out you are 1,800 times more likely to die at the hands of a doctor then someone with a gun.  enough said.  Just making a bad thing bigger does not mean it will be better, only that it will be bigger.
