Deportivo La Coruna defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Pablo-c23428, has outlined the problems of the club and called for his team-mates to be more intelligent on the ground and defend well together.
It hasn’t been a promising start to the season for the Galicians. Last week they were hammered 6-0 by the in-form, Atletico Madrid. At the moment, they are sitting at the bottom of the table.
The Segunda Division champions will play against Real Valladolid at home and their captain has remarked about where he believes things have gone wrong.
The right-back has no doubt that his team has quality. However, he said his team-mates must show what they are capable of and must prove their worth to the club.
“The quality is there, but despite the quality we must show our worth and that is what we have to prove.”
The former Spanish international has also admitted that quality alone will not ensure the survival of the team. He urged the players to use their mind on the pitch and be physically and tactically superior against their opponents.
“With quality alone we cannot survive. We must be smart on the field and physical and also to be good tactically.”
The Spaniard has stated that it is the club’s backline that needs to be tightened. Deportivo have conceded more goals than any other team in the Primera Division this season.
They have already let in 37 goals and as a result of that, the Galicians have the worst goal difference in La Liga.
“The results have not gone our way so far, it is clear too what the main problem is, the defence, and together we have to work harder at the back.”
Moreover, the 36-year-old explained how conceding goals first always complicates things for every team.
“It is not that the team goes a goal down and cannot still play its game, but it does not help us, on the contrary, it is a bother.”
Deportivo are currently rooted at the bottom of the table in the Primera Division with 11 points.
The Galicians will be hoping to register a win in their next match so that they will be able to get out of the drop zone.
