  1. T1/4 is the quarter life.  It is the time after which 1/4 of the reactant remains.    This is the same as 2 1/2lives,  as 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4.

  2. By analogy with half-life (t½), t¼ should mean the interval required for the quantity to decay to one quarter of its initial value, that is, two half-lives. However, it is a usage that serves no useful purpose and has no currency.

  3. half life means it is the time taken by a substance to become half

suppose 120 gm of some element is with me

1st half life it becomes 1/2 ie. 60

2nd half life it becomes 1/4 ie. 30

    3rd half life it becomes 1/8ie. 15

if there is M amount of substance

    after 1st HL M/2

    after 2nd  HL M/4

    after 3rd M/8

i feel  so the queston here is time after which 1/4 reactant exist

but u know time is represented by T alone and no other parameters are used by T letter

may be some fault in question or time after which 1/4th of the reactant is remaining?
