  1. A perfect gift for a kid of that age would be a portrait of one of his idols or of a thing he likes most. After getting a photo of such an idol or thing, just send it to http://www.paintyourlife.com. Their professional and creative artists can make very unique and classical-looking portraits or paintings out of otherwise ordinary photos! It is definitely worth a try and does not cost much.

The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. If you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...

  2. -books-- preferably nice sturdy board books

    -pegboard w/pegs

-Target has a nice selection of toys by the "Parents Magazine"  good quality toys!

  3. a push toy that turns into a ride on is nice.  clothes are great... but buy them in like 18 or 24 motnhs... you can almost guaruntee the child has grown out of 12 month clothes (my 9 month old is almost out of them too).  elmo rocks.  Elmo has great dvds... they are ten dollars called elmos world... my daughter is gaga for them.  leapfrog toys are awesome too.

  4. A stuffed animal

  5. depends what you want to spend my grand bay is turning 1 getting her something she has to push   they like them cause they can walk ..let them prat ice that

  6. A one year old is going to be swamped with toys that he will never remember.

How about buying him a savings bond for college?

  7. A pet.

  8. Put together a do it yourself gift that the child will love and offer to join in the fun to create it. Get a good sized box the child can fit in in the sitting position. Buy bright colored tissue paper, gift wrap, pipe cleaner and very large pom poms.  You can place this in a super large gift bag with printed out instructions and the offer of help.

When you are ready to make the box. Glue or tape colorful sheets of gift wrap on the outsides and insides. Coil up the pipe cleaners on a pen or pencil and glue them here and there, along with some of the pom poms. Cut up some of the gift wrap into large squares for the baby to ball up and scrunch.(you will demonstrate one or two times) and then let the baby scrunch them and toss them in the box.  Then help the baby climb in and watch the fun. This will provide hours of repeated fun for a one year old. You have created a texture box which is very developmentally appropriate for this age group. Of course you can include the bought item for keepsake...small interactive toy they can put in their mouth without safety issues. Children love plain boxes...and believe me...no duplicate gifts to return here! :)

  9. a nuclear war head.  it teaches them math, science, basics of pushing buttons and how to bomb 3rd world countrys such as soudi arabia.   they will defenatley enjoy that.

  10. Books!  You can never have too many, kids love them, and Usborne Books has some amazing ones!  Check out the "That's not my" series of Touchy Feely books.  My daughter loves the Princess one.  Also, they have some tabbed board books which are nearly indestructible, but have easy to turn pages for little fingers.  All Usborne Books are designed to get kids reading and learning.  Check them out at http://www.ubah.com/g2687

  11. well if he was older id get him that leap frog thing but since hes 1 probalywell its hard because hes 1 so maybe oneof those baby games or shows they do counting and stuff like sesame street

  12. my nephew just turned one and he likes the leggo blocks (for beginners) or the baby toys where they can stand up and play with the different activities (because remember they are still learning to use the legs).  or give the mom/dad a gift card and let them pick it out.  my nephew also got two of the same gifts as well.

  13. something interactive, with lots of simple lines and colors.  kids that age like pots and pans, the simple things.  simple wooden puzzles are always fun.

  14. blocks; I loved them when I was little

  15. Disney Popping Pals--the toy where there are 5 operations that a child can do, pulll on a toggle switch, slide a bar back and forth, push a button, and each time the child does one of these actions, a jack in the box pops up.

Books with stiff pages--Richard Scarry is good.

A water toy is great.  The kind where the baby pours water from a shovel onto, say, a waterwheel is lots of fun.

Any ball from 8 to 24 inches is a GREAT toy for this age.  After 14 months of age, a ping-pong ball.

    Doll.

30-40 small objects of different sizes and shapes and put in a container.  Is a homemade toy that will keep a child occupied for hours.

  16. Children cannot have enough fun educational toys. Or maybe even a trip to a aquarium or zoo if the weather permits it.
