  1. You could try contacting the TRPB (Thoroughbred Racing Protection Bureau) which is national organization that provides security services to the Thoroughbred racing industry (including issuing the tattoos).  But, I think they charge a research fee.

    Or, option two, you can contact the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering, which is the state agency that regulates the racing industry in Florida.  They don't track all tattoo numbers, but they do track the ones that are on Salix (which is most of them).  So, the horse may be in their database.

    Once you have a horse name, you can do a Google search and find out where it has raced and how often it wins.


  2. If you can read the lip tattoo you can contact the Jockey Club and they can do tattoo research for you and et all the horses info.

    It costs about $35 to have them do it.

  3. Go to the Jockey Club's website and give them the tattoo number.  You can buy the horse's race record and pedigree for around $30.
