Question:

With such cold weather around the world, what is this "global warming"?

Although we must be mindful to keep our environment as healthy as possible, global warming caused by humankind's emmission of carbon dioxide, is erroneous. It is becoming quite transparent that the ultimate goal here of global warming and the notion of eliminating carbon dioxide levels is to expand the nuclear programs. The use of this technology, this knowledge,is not healthy and not in harmony with the human species. Are your habits in harmony with Mother Earth? Consumption of natural resources is NOT the cause of a toxic world. It is created when you are not consuming in balance with other living creatures. We must think of the earth as being vibrant and healthy...not as sick and toxic....as it does effect the planet dramatically and all living creatures.

  1. You are ignoring the evidence that has been found by hundreds, if not thousands of top scientists -- most of are not in any way pro-nuclear power.  And it almost sounds like you have a "conspiracy" mindset.

I also am not 100% completely convinced that it is solely humankind's emissions of carbon dioxide that is causing "global warming".    However, I am willing to concede the fact that our CO2 emissions cannot be good for the earth!!

Your statement that "Consumption of natural resources is NOT the cause of a toxic world. It is created when you are not consuming in balance with other living creatures."  is true..  HOWEVER, WOULDN'T YOU AGREE THAT EMISSIONS OF BILLIONS OF TONS OF CO2 IN A FEW SHORT YEARS THAT WAS TRAPPED BY THE EARTH 100 MILLION YEARS AGO IS  NOT IN BALANCE?

The problem is that global warming has the potential to cause massive climate change that might have catastrophic consequences for the earth and its inhabitants.. namely you and me -- and our descendants.

Our emissions of CO2 have been developing over say the last 100 years, and it will take years of effort to reduce them in the future.  So the earlier we begin.. the cheaper it will potentially be..

As to the cold weather around the world.. actually that was predicted by Global Warming proponents.. because of the effects that the melting ice caps have on the natural cycles of the earth (e.g. the Gulf stream, the Atlantic currents, etc.) many areas of the northern US and Europe will probably get colder in the winter..

  2. First wrong assumption:

"global warming excludes cold weather": Global warming means an average increase in global temperatures, but not an end of temperature variations. There will still be the earth geography, local patterns and seasons playing a role and this has nothing to do with CO2 concentrations.

    -------------------------

    Second wrong assumption:

"it is becoming quite transparent that the ultimate goal here of global warming and the notion of eliminating carbon dioxide levels is to expand the nuclear programs".

Most specialists working on the global warming mitigation do not solely advocate nuclear technologies as a solution. It is really only in the US and France that it is seen by some people with very litlle knowledge of renewable energies as the one and only way to go. Energy efficiency in the generation, in the consumption and a mitigated use of energy can play an even larger role than  the generation of power and heat itself.

    -------------------------

    Third wrong assumption:

"Consumption of natural resources is NOT the cause of a toxic world".

Several transformation processes of natural resources which are applied as a result of the demand and in order to consumer them ARE leading to an increased toxicity:

e.g. Red muds as a result of aluminum production; heavy metals, toxic ashes, mercury, NOx and SOx due to the combustion of coal

    -------------------------------------

Your "free non backed assumption" (=opinion with zero scientific value): "warming caused by humankind's emmission of carbon dioxide, is erroneous"

No comment, you bring zero proofs to prove the greenhouse gases theory wrong and I can´t possibly see why an increased concentration in greenhouse gases would not lead to a higher average temperature.

  3. My ultimate goal in pushing the truth of global warming is to save lives and to ensure that those who are being badly affected by climate change are given the means to live their lives with dignity.  This problem has been referred to some of the best scientists nominated by the governments and they form the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change which has studied climate for a number of years and issued four major reports.  Their conclusion is that climate change is being driven by the amount of carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere which is limiting the radiation back to space and so the earth is heating up.

The heating is an observed fact - the graph is here http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science...

although we are waiting for the 2007 figure to be added.

If you accept the conclusions then we need to make drastic changes to our lifestyles to reduce the emissions and the vast majority of governments around the world have committed themselves to doing this by setting tough targets.

To meet these targets some governments are taking a fresh look at nuclear energy which is major source of energy in France.  This has to be done responsibly as safe disposal of nuclear waste is complicated.

So the first priority is being given to renewable sources like wind and tides but these may not be enough.

Whilst I am very reluctant to embrace nuclear technology I can't see why it is any less in harmony with the human species than pumping billions of gallons of oil out of the ground and burning it in internal combustion engines.

Looks like you have you eyes open. Can’t say that about to many people in society today. Most of us walk around with blinders until a catastrophe hits, then we wake up pretty quick. Unfortunately we go blind again a few months later…

Let me start off by saying we (my family and I) live 100% off of the grid and are completely self-sufficient with a 0% Carbon footprint. I believe this is the first step anyone can make “help the environment”. Once you convert your own life style to a greener more eco friendly route, you can start helping others.

We definitely didn't start global warming, but we definitely do contribute to it now.

Natural gas (or Methane along with other thanes) for example, is completely a natural contributer to global warming and is derived pretty much the same way as oil. ie. Matter (animal, plant etc) decomposes over time resulting in a anaerobic (hope I spelled that right) decay of non-fossil organic material / gas (natural gas or methane).

One problem with global warming is that the concept is so vague in the minds of the people. The critical interpretation is basically how it’s explained in school and the news. However most of the public see global warming connected with the ozone and pollutants which cause harmful greenhouse gasses, etc. therefore investigating and fighting for things like alternative energy (ie. Solar, wind, hydrogen, ethanol, biodiesel, etc)

Greenhouse gases are real and do contribute to global warming. Think of the different gas layers like ozone (o3) that circumference the globe as the clear plastic on a greenhouse. Longer rays of light from the Sun go in and reflect off different thermal masses bouncing back and creating shorter lengths of energy that cannot exist the plastic barrier. These beams then just continue to bounce around inside the green house until they’re finally absorbed completely (some do escape but very few), thereby warming the greenhouse greatly even in cold temperatures.

Basically there are 2 ways that this reaction (or lack of) affects the planet. Global warming and global cooling.

    1. as we add to the gases in the stratosphere, where the ozone layer is (Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc), we add to the plastic of the greenhouse, trapping more short wave length energy and heating the earth more.

    2. as we deplete the ozone (with chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs), we allow more long wave length energy, which bounces back out to space without heating any thermal masses on earth, thereby cooling the planet.

It’s pretty easy to see the results..

    Melting ice sheets & glaciers

    Floods & droughts

    Great hurricanes & cyclones

    Seasonal extremes

    Seasonal phenomena’s

    Species extinction

    New & resurgent diseases

There are many ways to stop both global warming and cooling from accruing or at least slow them down until we can discover a way to reverse it, but Stop burning fossil fuels is the biggest.

I currently own 2 converted h2 vehicles which run on 100% hydrogen and 1 EV (electric vehicle), not to mention our home is completely off the grid, using alternative energy (solar, wind, etc)

  5. mother earth?animals equal to man? are you serious?

  6. the world is getting hotter slowly and we cannot observe the changes spontaneously the cold regions will warm up in few years and the hotter places are getting more hotter.

  7. Strange that Iran holds this opinion about nuks. Of coercer, they are on the way to being an oil importer if they do not slow the use of oil. GW is about the changes humans will go through over the years as the temp raises and earth tries to control it. Weather-what you see outside-is not climate. I like the 2% Solution if we can make a great plan for 10 years to stop importing oil, therefore, cutting 40% in a little over 10 years.

  8. It's not clear that "the ultimate goal here of global warming and the notion of eliminating carbon dioxide levels is to expand the nuclear programs."  Frankly I don't see it coming up much (not enough to reveal it as a primary agenda).  People might (reasonably) be more open to nuclear if global warming symptoms continue, but it still has the drawbacks of spent fuel rod storage and the possibility that it could be involved in terrorism, so it'll remain an undesireable alternative that will only be used when other options are not available.

As for what's more likely to come into play, energy production is only 40% of the overall problem, and there are other ways to address that portion.  Micro solar for example, small residential and business solar installations, can dramatically reduce the need for centralized power stations at all.  There's also a tremendous opportunity to reduce the power that current appliances draw from the wall when they're not being used.

Only half of human emissions and other impacts (such as deforestation) exceed the planet's capacity to absorb our excess carbon, so simple conservation measures and small incremental technology changes can get us a lot of the way there.

As for the cold weather, it's winter.  A degree or two of warming will not be very noticeable to us, but it'll wreak havoc with our crops, water supplies, etc.

  9. Here's my take on the subject, and there are just as many scientists to back me up as there are against my opinion so don't just listen to the major media who are out to scare you thus getting more ratings.  Anyway, if global climate change is occurring, I'm willing to concede that point but I don't think its necessarily caused by or solely caused by us.  Paleontologists and archaeologists will tell you that the earth has gone through its own climate changes countless times in history and prehistory.  Remember the ice age?  Was it cow farts and factories that caused global warming to bring about the end of the ice age?  No it was a natural occurring change.  Why does it seem so outrageous to think the Earth itself goes through periodic warming and cooling periods?  It has in the past, and I assume it will do so in the future.  I am really not so pretentious to think that our race can bring about the end of an entire planet.

  10. With so much BIAS even among so called experts who do you believe? Truly these same people might be saying GLOBAL COOLING within a few years! Have faith in GOD!
