How do you think human society has been affected, and do you think it is a positive influence or a negative one?

Of course the internet affected human society. And as general it is positive, it has many many useful uses, it shorten distances and time.

But from social point of view it differs!

It transform us bit by bit from real society to virtual society, which make us in fact deal with machines but not the person in the other terminal ( I am pointing to emotions) so you can build thousands of relations on the internet but it is so difficult to convert it to a real relation directly face to face, cause on net you are away from touching the real behavior of others so it is excluded from your relation but on earth behaviors is the major role playing in the human relations.

Internet easier to make relations.

Also it is time eater, so not leaving enough time for actual real relations.

Yes it provides a huge media for knowledge and facilitates to ask about things you may unable to ask in your close community, it has no limits or regulations, are not afraid from drawbacks, once you feel awful it is so easy to shut it down to cease all offendings,  so it appears more easy to deal, always you are controlling the start and the end of any relation and any talk. So it pulls people towards virtual relations.

In Fact it is not real relations but it helps introverts to become more introverts.

As a sum, my opinion is it has negative effect in the social part.

Positive. you can never say that it doesn't give negative effect, even in general it is positive. Internet may be source of fraud, because you will never sure in anything. The informations may not be true and the people you'll meet there may be bad persons. You're never sure. But in instance, internet still work today, so meaning they do good to people. People meet new friends, expresses there feelings, reaserching on their studies, playing games to forget the stress, etc. As long as one person is happy with the services of the internet, it is still positive for the humanity.
