Yes, I'm tired of hearing "experts" pontificate about how his VP selection will anger the hardline conservatives. They are gonna vote for him no matter what. Don't listen the craziness about how they'll stay home on election day. Zealots only know one thing and it's not apathy. They'll show up and they won't vote for Obama. A woman at VP (Veep is for douchebags) will draw in independents and Hillary fans. That would, as a very smart individual already wrote, be a win in a landslide. I just think that higher-ups in the GOP (just like the Dems already did) feel compelled to stay with the status quo.

I'm not sure there is a connection between Obama selecting Biden and McCain selecting a woman.  I'd be fine with a man or a woman provided competence is the first measure.  Now that Bill Clinton isn't around the White House, at least a woman should have a safer working environment.

A moderate but right-leaning woman would be ideal IMO.  Gov. Palin would work, maybe even Kay Bailey Hutchinson, although she is probably too old linked up with Mac.  Who knows, maybe even Colin Powell would accept.  But I would definately advise that he shake things up a little with non-conventional pick.

Given who Senator Obama chose, if I were Senator McCain, I would nominate Governor Palin of Alaska if she would accept.  I would do this less because she's a woman, and more because she's from an energy producing state that runs counter to the Democrat platform.

The Repubs selecting a woman as VP?  LOL....the hard core Repubs are angery enough at McCain for even considering Romney.  Imagine if he picked a woman?  He'd lose what little far right wing support he already has.
