Doesn't this sound like how the Democrats are treating health care now?

The Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) has launched a program to provide $1 trillion in financing to 10 million low- to moderate-income families buying homes by the year 2000. Fannie Mae also will be providing mortgage loans to inner-city residents.

When it comes to having a piece of the American pie, the material evidence of home ownership has always ranked high on the lists of most people.

Unfortunately, that dream has often been deferred for African-Americans. Studies by academicians and community activist groups detailing the high incidence of redlining and mortgage loan discrimination have led to sound bite exposure in the media, and a cynical approach to ...

And go figure, and company that pay's NO TAXES, has to be bailed out.

  1. Yeah they will still continue in their mission to destroy America.

  2. I don't see the connection, unless you're asserting that government is generally less helpful to us than private companies.  And you're welcome to that ideology; I agree with it in many cases.  I don't like bureaucracy in general.

I still want the government providing universal health care because I see how well it works in Canada, my wife's native country, and how much more difficult it is to obtain health care here - even for me with my good BCBS w/dental.   It has nothing to do with ideology for me.  My opinion's a pragmatic one based on seeing how things work in the real world.

  3. Why should mediocre management and racist policies be considered status quo?  For that matter why do you have so little faith in America?  Are you Anti-American?

Medicare and Medicaid works.  No it's not perfect, neither is the private health care system.

  4. What does this have to do with healthcare?  Do you want to talk about the mortgage crisis, or about healthcare?

  5. 1)  Fannie Mae has not failed.

    2) A hybrid mortgage lender has nothing to do with health care.

    Apples and Oranges.

  6. Yes, but the real question is do Americans want Democrats involved in government?

  7. I feel that "Our government is crummy, so we shouldn't let them handle things," is not an attitude conducive to getting anything done. How about, "OUR government is supposed to work for US.  Let's demand that they do what's in our interests."

And I think it is in our interests to have some kind of universal health insurance.  Yikes!  It's crazy here!   I don't want insurance companies playing hot potato with people, trying to figure out how to collect premiums from the healthy ones and unload the sick ones without paying out.
