With the cost of gas... should I put my 2 on the bus?

my kids are 5 & 8. Should I put them on the bus. We are 40 miles round trip by car: ( Dilemna

Absolutely not.  Although times are tough financially, the welfare of your children must always come first.  Not only are they both too young to be on a bus by themselves, but they are also prone to kidnappings, etc..  

Can you or another adult ride with them on the bus?  You could also try cutting the budget in other areas, tough but can be done if you look hard enough.
