  1. a moped would not be much good  running the family around or doing the shopping or buying a new TV etc.

some small cars can get 60+ mpg and even  the LARGE prius get 67mpg.

betttter go for a more economical car than a moped unless it just you and you don't need it for the shops but if thats the case what wrong with walking?

  2. After taking a CBT you can ride a 50cc moped on UK road with 'L' plates.  Or if you are over 17 you can ride a 125cc motorbike with 'L' plates.

Don't know about mopeds but my 125 used to do about 70mpg all depends on how it is riden and how you ride it.

  3. Try converting your car to a hybrid

  4. Hi,yes your driving licence will cover you.I reckon you will get ggod milage.i live on an A road the traffic is usually non stop.

The last couple of days theres been hardly any cars & up to now it is like a sunday morning.its eerie

  5. Depends when you got your full car licence. If you obtained your full car licence before 1 February 2001 you are automatically entitled to ride a moped without L-plates (D-plates in Wales).

If you obtained a full car licence after 1 February 2001 you must first complete a CBT course and obtain a DL 196 certificate to validate your entitlement.

A moped is defined as a motorcycle that has the following features:

*maximum design speed not exceeding 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) (about 31 miles per hour (mph)

*an engine capacity no greater than 50 cc

*it can be moved by pedals, if the moped was first used before 1 September 1977)
