Question:

With the departure of Baron Davis, will the warriors be better, the same, or worse with Maggette?

BDavis is one of the best point guards in the league. Now, Ellis will have to fill that void. Maggette is a great perimeter player but the Warriors are left with 3 scorers but no true point guard.

  1. I have mixed feelings about this.

Yes, he leaves a void at the point, but he's also very injury prone.  He's missed a lot of games in his career, part of the reason he's moved around some.

They won't have a true PG, so Maggette's signing still kind of baffles me.  He's a prolific scorer, but what's the blueprint.

Chris Mullin must know something we don't.

  2. it's gonna be tough for the Ws. the West isn't getting any easier, and losing one of the best PGs in the league usually doesn't help. i love the opportunity this gives Monta, but i'm not sure that creating shots and setting up the offense (to the degree the Ws run an offense) are his strengths. Maggette gives them a J-Rich-type scorer again, but J-Rich thrived with a great PG. they still need a low-post defender/rebounder/shotblocker, and i'm not sure Turiaf is the right fit. Brand obviously would've been a great pickup. i hate to say it, but i'm predicting the Warriors win 43 games and miss the playoffs again. Portland will be on the rise this year, and even the Seattlahoma Whatevers will be better.
