And other games there to offset their decreased ability to save money given how those casino employees and managers also automobiles and the cost of gas is hurting them to?

So because of higher gas prices, how much tighter are they planning to make their machines?

  1. Casino's are a very profitable business so I doubt an increase in gas prices means they will tighten up the slot machines.  It makes no sense.  They have the house edge and want to get whatever they can out of you.

The number of people going to casino's has dropped because of the recent housing depression.

  2. casinos?? i thought the price of food would be the first thing on ya mind

  3. No, I dont think that they will do that. The odds are so high in the casinos with all the games and in favor of the house that they wouldnt want to take a chance on losing customers.  Dont worry the casinos will still make plenty of money.

  4. Sh*t ,those machines cant get any tighter, can they?

    Stop gambling !

    Thats the only way!

  5. The effect of any fuel price rises will be insignificant to the casinos. Most of their money is spent on running the hotel and casino - things like staff wages, security, maintenance, utilities, etc.

For example, MGM Mirage alone had revenue of $3.8M in the first half of 2007 - half of that was casino takings, the other half hotel revenue. For the net casino revenue, slot machines made up half of that - around $900k.

Operational costs like staffing and food will cause far more of a profit hit than fuel prices - and casinos will recoup that by increases in costs on the hotel side, which carries the brunt of those operational costs.
