  1. we need to drill..duh..call your senator/house rep

  2. Oil is not 'running out'.

We (the US) are sitting on a MOUNTAIN of oil, more than in the Middle East!, but the Democrats won't let us drill it.

    Insane liberals.

  3. Yes it will hurt tourism.  Cheap fuel is a thing of the past.  It will be expensive to travel from now on.

  4. Do understand how water is recycled... Also our oxygen is recycled by plants from CO2. Another part of that is the plants keep the C which will break down into oil & gas. The plants are storeing energy from the sun in there oil's. We will never run out of oil& gas.....

  5. Ok this has got to be one of the worst questions posted, you need to be worrying about how people are going to survive and the answer is Local Motion! Think about it, or better yet get help to figure this answer out.

  6. It is a set-up. I don't know why they don't use liquid coal. We are the Saudia Arabia of the world for coal. Enough coal for hundreds of years.

  7. I think that is going to change very soon, oil companies used to be able to get away with hiding alternative fuels, slow production or just shelving them. however now we got $4 gas in the states, and rising, people are calling for a way to be rid of the fossil fuel. and about time as well, we need something that will help our earth, no poison her.... I would say this year, but give it maybe two years and we will have another brand of car soon enough.

  8. Fuel shortages will definitely hurt tourism. I do not see any indication of enough low enough cost alternative fuels becoming available for many years. There will definitely be a reduction in tourism over the next 50 years.

(EDIT) By a slip of the mouse I accidentally gave the first answer thumbs up when I wanted to give it thumbs down. This is a GOOD question, that goes to the heart of the life style changes that will be forced on us by the limited world supply of fossil fuel.

  9. There already are alternative fuels. Hybrid cars, electric cars, solar power, natural gas, to name a few. I used to drive a cab that was powered by natural gas.

  10. ENERGY CRISIS

    IS HURTING US ALL.

    BUT ITS ALL POLITICAL

    ANOTHER WAY TO RAISE

    PRICES BEFORE AN ELECTION.

    PRICES DROP WHEN NEW PRESIDENT

    ARRIVES BEEN THERE DONE THAT

    LIKE 9 DIFFERENT PRESIDENTS..

2 PLAYED THIS STUPID GAME NOW

    ITS ALL MONEY & POWER........

  11. I am not worried about oil running out.  The price of fuel will definitely hurt tourism.  It already has.  I live in a tourist town.  This winter was a great snow year after 3 years of little snowfall.  Gas prices hovered around $3 per gallon all winter and heating oil was over $3.  The snowmobile traffic was higher than the past few years but was off about 1/4 compared to a typical year with good snow.   Since winter gas prices have risen to over $4 a gallon and heating oil is about $4.50.  This takes away from people's disposable income and many are saving as much as they can to pay to heat their homes next winter.  The high fuel prices are a result of two things. One is supply and demand.  This can be fixed by reducing demand through more efficient cars,  trucks,  furnaces,  better insulated buildings, even more efficient farm and logging equipment.  Supply should also be increased by developing more oil fields and building refineries to process the additional crude oil.

The other cause of high fuel prices is the current low value of the dollar.  The best way to fix the dollar is to reduce government spending,  cut taxes and for people to buy American made goods.  That includes American oil.  Don't forget that oil drilling and refineries provide good paying jobs.  America needs to rebuild its manufacturing base now.  Keep the money here!!
