No DSLR cameras are designed to shoot video.

When you buy a DSLR, you are firmly out of the P&S camera arena and into cameras that are more closely associated with professional techniques.

To have video included in a digital camera, you will be giving up the large sensor associated with DSLR's and deal with sensors about 15 times smaller.

The best camera to record video is a video camera ... like Sony, Canon, JVC and Panasonic mini-DV or HDD

No self respecting DSLR would be caught dead taking video. It's a completely different set of variables and compromises quality. DSLR's are all about quality still images.

No, the Alpha will not shoot videos, but if you are wanting a good digital camera that will also take video, the Sony Cybershot cameras work well. I have both the Alpha A200 and a small Cybershot point and shoot. The Alpha is an awesome camera, but the Cybershot is great for carrying with me all the time. The photos are great and the video quality is pretty good too.
