  1. I think eletric cars are a little too expensive now but their are some more inexpensive solutions around. I have been doing a little research and found a guy by the name Oliver South convereted his BMW to water gas fuel. He has a video that shows step by step how anyone can do this. There is also a review website that I found in my research that covered  a few other companies that are doing the same thing. You might want  to check the review site at http://waterfuelconversion.googlepages.c...

  2. They are but they always keep pushing back their introductions...2010 seems to be a popular introduction date now and the Tesla is already 2 years later and still counting.

  3. Have a look at the documentary "Who killed the electric car", it will make you mad because you will understand why we won't see them on the market any time soon...

  4. It's all about power and greed and who comes out on top. The world's financial whoa's are but a glimpse of this age-old struggle. The baron's of old are as real and predominate today as of centuries ago. What is new is old and what is old is new. Nothing is new under the sun. What is different is that the common pheasant now has a greater opportunity to effect moral rightness upon the immoral elite. American and English courts have finally begun to secumb to the will of descent people with right morality. The barons of industry are begining to recognize that thier immoral actions have real consequences. Consequences that cannot escape the world court of condemnation for such actions. No-one can operate such demented franchises in the world today with impunity. The mighty must fall and in thier place will come a new hope of world order. One that eradicates the world of such transgretions to the masses.

  5. you should watch; Who killed the electric car.

  6. i think its because they are not affortable. they also dont have much power oh and the charge doesnt last long.

  7. We had electric cars over 70 years ago-- they failed to catch on at that time.

The real answer is miles between battery charges--

We will see several vehicles of this type in the next 2-5 years-- however 100% fully electric cars (not a hybrid) --- introduce several other problems of their own---

    1. What do we do with the highly toxic battery when it dies? --- yes some parts can be recycled but not everything inside.

    2. The chemicals used to manufacture them are very toxic.

    3. Running time and distance is limited as compared to a hybrid or convention automobile.

    4. The car must be recharged for several hours -- during which time you cannot use it. (yes I know all about quick charge it in one hour--- repeating the quick charge over and over again-- reduces the potential life of the battery.)

So-- a fully electric car still has its problems--- a new technology discovery in batteries is needed.

  8. Some people may disagree with me, but I beleive that the answer is money, politics and us the consumer.

Firstly, new technology is generally fairly expensive due to production costs and the costs of research. Consumers dont want to pay for expensive electric cars that are slow and possibly less reliable than gas fueled cars.

Politicians are interested in pleasing the people for the present- after all they only have short-terms in government and therefore are unwilling to prepare for the future crisis of petrol shortages for the future.

Oil companies will do all that is possible to reap the rewards from natural resources. These oil companie have bought the patents for electric motors and other technologies. There is no question that this has hindered development of new technologies into the uses of renewable resources for transport.

So what about the hydrogen fueled car? That also needs energy to produce the hydrogen fuel...

And then again, the electric car still needs to burn coal and other natural resources to make the electricity.

Basically, the future of the transport industry will slup, wars over the last few remaining oil and coal deposits will become worse and worse and the word will fall appart unless new renewable technologies can be created. I hope im not around to see that day!

  9. They have some big problems: price, authonomy, long charging time.

  10. GM is seriously designing the Volt, Tesla is coming to market with the expensive roadster and there's a slew of others trying to beat them.

Coming to market with these vehicles takes time, but I can't say that these companies aren't trying.

Tesla just got a $100 M loan from the Dept. of Energy to produce a more affordable family-sized vehicle.

  11. Batter is too heavy and expensive. The range is too small and the recharge time too long.

  12. electric cars have been around since the early 1900's, and in fact didnt fall out of favor until the late 1920's when gasoline became firmly entrenched as the fuel of choice. the problem with electric cars has always been;

1: range, or lack there of. most electric cars are limited to a range of about 100 miles at most, and usually less.

2: slow recharge cycles for the batteries. NiCADS and lithium-ion batteries have a decent charge rate, but are still way too slow compared to filling even a 100 gallon tank of fuel. and lead-acid batteries are even worse. if you are taking a long trip, you dont want to be hanging around the charge station for a few hours waiting for your batteries to recharge.

3: batteries are heavy and expensive, and can be diffcult to replace depending ont he cars design.

for all the hype about electric cars, they just have too many drawbacks to be anything more than a short range, "run to the supermarket" kind of car for now. new battery technologies, and faster recharge rates, as well as slower discharge rates, and the electric car can certainly become a viable form of transportation in the future.

  13. About 5 years ago, there were wonderful

electric cars.  the owners just loved them BUT

they were all RECALLED.  It was not a product defect, no reason was given.

Some owners tried to hide their cars but

I think that every last one was removed

    from use.

Now who or why was that done?

  14. have you not seen the rise in the cost of Elec.?   its not free you know, and if the demand for it goes up so with the cost.

Also keep in mind, a elec. car that might work for a family, will cost family about 3 times the cost of a normal car.
