What do you think they will do with the ship. Will they salvage it?

  1. I'm more concerned what half a million gallons of fuel oil will do to that pristine and important environment... that ship will be leaking fuel for the next 100 years.

  2. It will depend on the depth of water where she actually sank and whether or not she is a danger to shipping. The Explorer was a small ship of 2400 tons, 246ft long built in 1969 and should not be difficult to salvage.  A lot will depend on how much more damage was done to the hull when she hit the ocean floor, how much it will cost to raise her and how much she is worth.
